TWA Flight 694

January 12, 1955

  Viewer Discretion is Advised

At 9:04 AM on January 12, 1955, a TWA Martin 202A operating as Flight 694 collided with a Castleton DC-3 as it was departing Runway 22 at the Greater Cincinnati Airport. Both aircraft were substantially damaged and crashed along the Limaburg Road in Boone County Kentucky killing everyone on both planes. One of the witnesses to this crash was Harold "Hook" Vines who would be a first responder to both the AA Flight 383 and the TWA Flight 128 crashes in the 1960s. A special thanks to Dave Birkley for providing us these rare photographs of the 1955 air collision.
